...Slick and Hazardous Evening Commute Expected...
Widespread precipitation will spread northward across the
Champlain Valley this afternoon and continue into the early
evening hours. Temperatures are currently near to just below
freezing, and will likely drop a few degrees at the onset of the
precipitation. This means precipitation will fall mainly as snow,
which could be heavy at times. Freezing rain may also mix in at
times. Roads will likely become slick quickly from a rapid
accumulation of snow and a glaze of ice. This combined with
reduced visibilities in any heavier precipitation will make for a
hazardous commute.
Motorists are urged to use caution while traveling and remain
alert for rapidly changing road conditions. Slow down, leave
plenty of room between you and other vehicles, and turn your
lights on.
